New Pain Management Toolkit Available

 

FREE CME Training in June

A new state toolkit designed to assist primary care doctors who prescribe opioids will be released this month by the Ohio Department of Health (ODH).

The Ohio Pain Management Toolkit features 10 strategies clinicians can employ to improve their pain management processes and achieve better patient health outcomes. The Toolkit was created by the Ohio State Medical Association (OSMA) and the Medical Advantage Group under a grant from ODH. 

To more easily implement the Toolkit, the OSMA is hosting five, FREE live training events in June for primary care physicians and their staff featuring one-hour of CME credit. 

During the training, participants will learn how to use some or all 10 of the Toolkit strategies to assure a consistent approach to pain management and reduce the potential for over-prescribing opioids when addressing acute or chronic pain conditions.
